CSK will retain these 5 players! Big update on MS Dhoni

Chennai Super Kings retentions update: There is a lot of buzz about IPL 2025 and the biggest reason for this is the mega auction. At the same time, everyone's eyes are also on Chennai Super Kings, as fans are eager to know whether MS Dhoni will play the next season or not. Now an important news related to Dhoni is coming out and it is being claimed that the former CSK captain's magic can be seen in the next season as well. BCCI may not have announced the rules regarding retention yet, but CSK has included Dhoni in the list of players to be retained.

Big information has come out regarding the retention of Chennai Super Kings

Media reports are claiming that the Chennai franchise has made a plan thinking that three players can be retained, while two will be RTM cards. In such a situation, the franchise has planned to retain Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ravindra Jadeja, Shivam Dubey, Mathisha Pathirana and MS Dhoni. It is not yet decided whether Dhoni will play the next season or not, but the former captain does not want more money than the franchise's purse value. That is why he will be retained for the least amount or if the BCCI allows, he can be seen playing as an uncapped player.

Under the old rule, if a player has not played international cricket for five years, he will be considered an uncapped player. This rule was removed from the year 2021 onwards. However, Chennai Super Kings plan to use this rule again but it will completely depend on the IPL Governing Council whether to bring back the rule or not.

Rules may be announced soon

BCCI has not yet announced the rules regarding the mega auction. Due to this, there is confusion about how many players can be retained in total. However, it is being told that the rules can be announced in some time and the mega auction can be organized outside India at the end of November. In such a situation, only after the announcement of the rules, it will be revealed which franchise will retain how many players.
