Atishi became the third woman CM of Delhi, these AAP ministers also took oath

New Delhi : After Arvind Kejriwal's resignation, Delhi has got a new Chief Minister today. Atishi has taken oath as the Chief Minister in a program organized at the Lieutenant Governor's Secretariat. Before Kejriwal's resignation, Atishi was elected as the new leader in the Aam Aadmi Party's legislative party meeting.

With today's swearing-in, Atishi has become the third woman to become the Chief Minister of Delhi. Before her, BJP's Sushma Swaraj and Congress' Sheila Dixit have held this post. AAP's Mukesh Ahlawat and Gopal Rai have taken oath as cabinet ministers. Saurabh Bhardwaj, Kailash Gehlot, Imran Hussain have become ministers.

After taking oath as a minister in the Atishi-led Delhi government, AAP leader Gopal Rai said that this entire team is Arvind Kejriwal's team. The work started by Arvind Kejriwal has to be taken to new heights. Especially in winters, the effect of air pollution increases a lot, work will be done to control it… the government has done a lot of work, people are getting free electricity, free water, health care… we will continue to make efforts to improve it in the future.

17th woman to hold the post of CM in independent India

In independent India, Atishi is the 17th woman to hold the post of Chief Minister. The Lieutenant Governor administered the oath of office to party leaders Saurabh Bhardwaj, Gopal Rai, Kailash Gehlot, Imran Hussain and Mukesh Ahlawat. Mukesh Ahlawat, a first-time MLA from Sultanpur Mazra, is a new face in the Atishi Cabinet.
