Make vermicelli in this style for breakfast for children

Seviyan (Vermicelli) is a dish that is loved by people of all ages, especially children. It is not only tasty but also nutritious. Material:

– 1 cup roasted vermicelli

– 1 tablespoon ghee

– 1 onion (finely chopped)

– 1 carrot (finely chopped)

– 1/2 cup peas (boiled)

– 1 tomato (finely chopped)

– 1 tsp cumin

– 1/2 tsp turmeric powder

– 1/2 tsp red chilli powder (according to taste)

– 1 tsp garam masala

– 1/2 tsp dried mango powder (optional)

– Salt to taste

– 2 cups water

– Finely chopped coriander leaves (for garnishing)

Method:

1. Fry cumin seeds and onions in ghee:

– First of all, heat ghee in a pan and add cumin seeds to it.

– When the cumin seeds start crackling, add finely chopped onion to it and fry until it becomes light golden.

2. Add the veggies:

– After this add chopped carrots, peas and tomatoes. Fry it for 3-4 minutes so that the vegetables become slightly soft.

– Then add turmeric, red chili powder, garam masala and salt and mix well.

3. Add water and cook the vermicelli:

– Now add 2 cups of water into it and let it boil.

– When the water starts boiling, add roasted vermicelli into it and mix well.

– Reduce the flame of the gas and cover it and let it cook for 5-7 minutes until the vermicelli is completely cooked.

4. Serve:

– After the vermicelli is cooked, turn off the gas and add dry mango powder and finely chopped green coriander to it.

– Now serve it hot. If you want, you can decorate it on a plate and serve it in a more fun way for the children.

Tips:

1. You can also add other vegetables like capsicum, sweet corn or paneer to make it more nutritious.

2. If kids like less spices, you can reduce the amount of red chillies or skip the use of green chillies altogether.
