Afghanistan eyes a clean sweep against South Africa, will bat first

Dhaka Dhaka. Afghanistan has won the toss and decided to bat first in the third and final ODI against South Africa. On Sunday, it is eyeing a historic 3-0 clean sweep against the Proteas. Afghanistan has taken a 2-0 lead in the series by registering a thumping victory of six wickets and 177 runs in the first two matches. South Africa's team was out for 106 and 134 runs.

Bowling all-rounder Andile Phehlukwayo replaced Nadre Burger. South Africa made only one change from the last match. Afghanistan had to sit out their best leg-spinner Rashid Khan. Rashid took five wickets in the last match despite suffering a hamstring injury while batting.

Opener Abdul Malik was given a chance to debut and replaced Riaz Hasan in the top order. While fast bowler Farid Khan replaced Fazalhaq Farooqi. Afghanistan made three changes.

South Africa have fielded an inexperienced squad for their first ODI series against Afghanistan, with several key players including David Miller, Tabraiz Shamsi and Keshav Maharaj playing in the Caribbean Premier League. Fast bowler Kagiso Rabada has been rested for the series, while Gerald Coetzer and Marco Jansen are recovering from injuries.
