FIR against Rahul Gandhi: BJP has lodged an FIR against Rahul Gandhi in Karnataka over his statement in America. This controversy started after Rahul's statement, which he gave during his US tour about reservation and Sikh community. BJP leaders are opposing his statement. However, Rahul Gandhi says that his statement has been misinterpreted.

Tarvinder Singh Marwah: On September 11, BJP protested outside Rahul Gandhi's house in Delhi, in which BJP leader Tarvinder Singh Marwah was accused of threatening Rahul. He had said, “Rahul Gandhi, come back, otherwise the same thing will happen to you as happened to your grandmother (Indira Gandhi).” Congress called it BJP's politics of hatred and demanded a response from Prime Minister Modi.Ravneet Singh Bittu: Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu called Rahul Gandhi “the country's number one terrorist”. An FIR has been lodged against him in Karnataka Police for this statement. Congress called it the politics of cheap rhetoric for power.Sanjay Gaikwad: Maharashtra MLA Sanjay Gaikwad attacked Rahul Gandhi on September 16, saying that Rahul wants to end reservation for OBCs and tribals, and he announced a reward of Rs 11 lakh to anyone who cuts Rahul's tongue. An FIR has been lodged for this statement as well.

Letter from Kharge and Nadda

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge had written a letter to Prime Minister Modi expressing concern over the “hate speech” being made by BJP leaders against Rahul Gandhi. In response to this, BJP President JP Nadda wrote an open letter to Kharge, in which he accused Congress leaders of insulting PM Modi and questioned the double standards of the Congress.

Source of controversy

In a statement given in America on September 10, Rahul Gandhi had mentioned the concerns among the Sikh community about their religious identity. In response to a question on reservation, Rahul had said that Congress will consider ending reservation only when everyone in the country starts getting equal opportunities, which is not possible at present.
