The events of Boman Irani's life played an important role in his success, know what he said?

Mumbai, September 22 (IANS) Bollywood actor Boman Irani's directorial feature film 'The Mehta Boys' is garnering a lot of praise. 'The Mehta Boys' has received a standing ovation at the Chicago South Asian Film Festival.

Amidst the praises being received for 'The Mehta Boys', Boman Irani talked about the incidents related to his life. He told how every incident of his life has contributed to him becoming a good actor.

Actually, actor Boman Irani also worked as a waiter, photographer and in a wafer shop during his career. After this, he made his mark in the industry as a successful actor.

Boman Irani said, “I would like to say better late than never. I really believe that, but I don't think I am managing my timelines or my career the way everybody thinks.”

He further added, “Every single moment of my career, whether it was working as a waiter or working in my family's shop for 14 years or raising my children, I turned to theatre and did photography for about 14 years, only then I started acting in films.”

Boman Irani told that whatever he did before becoming an actor has been useful in his life.

He further added, “In many ways, I am consoling myself for coming into the game so late, but I would say that whatever I have done, be it as a waiter or sitting at a shop, I learnt about cinema from all these incidents. Sitting at the shop, every single day, I took notes about every character that appealed to me.”

“The pictures I took while in photography inspired me to tell stories, while theatre taught me the discipline of drama. What I really needed to learn was writing. Just because I have been acting for 25-35 years, it doesn't mean I qualify as a writer or as a director. You all have to pay your dues and I think I have paid my dues,” he said.
