In an interview shared by BCCI, Preeti jokingly asked Ashwin why he did not come to meet her on the first day and why he did not shake hands. Preeti also talked about Ashwin's brilliant performance at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. She also asked Ashwin what gift he would give to the children on the occasion of Daughters Day. To this Ashwin said that he would give the ball to his daughters with which he took five wickets against Bangladesh.

The energy of Chepok inspires
Talking about his innings, Ashwin said that he did not expect a Test century. He said that the energy of the Chepauk Stadium always inspires him. Ashwin said, 'I don't know how to react because things happened so fast on the first day. I did not expect to bat here and score a century. I could not bat for long. It feels good. It feels special whenever I come here. There is some energy in this area that inspires me to move forward.
