A wonderful recipe for making Chana Chaat

– Salt: to taste

– Sev: for garnish (optional)

Method of Preparation:

1. Boil the chickpeas: First of all, wash the chickpeas soaked overnight and boil them in a pressure cooker for 2-3 whistles. Make sure that the chickpeas are cooked completely but not too soft. Strain the boiled chickpeas and keep them aside and let them cool.

2. Mix all the ingredients: In a large bowl, add boiled chickpeas, finely chopped onions, tomatoes, cucumber and green chillies. Now add chopped coriander leaves to it.

3. Add spices: Now to make the chaat spicy, add chaat masala, black salt, roasted cumin powder, red chili powder and salt as per taste. Mix all these well so that all the spices get mixed well with the chickpeas.

4. Add lemon juice: To add freshness and tang to the chaat, add lemon juice at the end and mix again gently.

5. Garnish: You can garnish the prepared chana chaat with sev if you want or you can enjoy it without sev as well. Garnish it with fresh green coriander.
