Instead of helping the flood victims, the BJP government left the people to fend for themselves: Akhilesh Yadav
Lucknow. Samajwadi Party's national president Akhilesh Yadav has said that 20 districts of the state are in a bad condition due to floods. Lakhs of people are affected by the floods. More than 500 villages are surrounded by flood waters. Humans and animals are all in a bad condition. Public life is ruined. The government is not helping the flood victims as per their needs. This is the height of the state government's insensitivity. Flood victims are pleading for help. The government-administration is nowhere to be seen to help the flood victims.

Akhilesh Yadav said that the situation is bad in some other districts including Lakhimpur Kheri, Gonda, Farrukhabad, Ballia, Badaun, Hardoi, Barabanki, Azamgarh, Varanasi, Unnao, Kannauj, Basti, Hathras, Bahraich, Shahjahanpur, Prayagraj due to floods. People are scared due to the rising water level of Ganga, Yamuna, Ghaghra, Sharda and other rivers in the state. Despite the government knowing everything, it is completely inactive. Instead of helping the flood victims, the BJP government has left the people to fend for themselves.
He said that the situation in the Terai districts is even worse. The common people have to live in fear. On one hand, people are facing shortage of food and water due to the floods, everything has been destroyed and on the other hand, they are struggling to save their lives from wild animals. Wild animals are coming out of the forests and attacking people. The people are facing a double crisis. The government is not helping at all, there is discrimination even in the food that is being provided.
In the rainy season, apart from cold and fever, dengue and malaria patients are also coming in large numbers. Animal diseases are also increasing. There are also problems of fodder for animals. The government is not at all concerned about waterlogging and the situation that follows. The poor people and animals are suffering due to lack of medicine and treatment.
