Shah Rukh Khan reveals meaning behind son ‘Abram’s’ name

Bollywood’s ‘King of Romance,’ Shah Rukh Khan, has once again become a topic of conversation as an old interview has resurfaced, in which he shared the special reason for naming his youngest son ‘AbRam.’

In the interview, Shah Rukh explained that the name ‘AbRam’ was chosen to honor his family’s cultural and traditional values. He expressed that he wanted his son to grow up with a distinct identity, and the name holds both personal and spiritual significance, representing the union of their diverse family backgrounds.

Shah Rukh Khan, a Bollywood icon, has ruled the hearts of millions for decades, admired for his exceptional acting skills, modesty, and compassionate nature.

While appearing on the Indian show Aap Ki Adalat, a fan asked Shah Rukh why he selected the name ‘AbRam’ for his son and what it symbolized.

Shah Rukh then revealed that in the Bible, the Prophet Abraham is known as ‘Abraham,’ while in Jewish tradition, he is referred to as ‘Abram.’

Shah Rukh explained, “Since my wife is Hindu and I am Muslim, I wanted our children to experience the essence of secularism in our home.”

Shah Rukh further mentioned that not everyone appreciated the name, and it even stirred controversy. Despite this, he remains confident that, just like in their home, secularism thrives in the country as well.

At present, Shah Rukh Khan is engaged in filming his upcoming movie *King*, which will also star his daughter Suhana Khan and Abhishek Bachchan.
