PM Modi wraps up 3-day US visit, returns to India after a series of bilateral talks

New York : Prime Minister Narendra Modi returned to New Delhi today after concluding his three-day “successful” visit to the US, which saw a series of bilateral talks with leaders of several countries on the sidelines of the Quad Leaders’ Summit and the UN Summit of the Future.

In the final part of his visit, Prime Minister Modi met his Armenian counterpart Nikol Pashinyan on the sidelines of the Summit of the Future at New York on Monday. He also had a meeting with Cardinal Secretary of State of Vatican City Pietro Parolin.

Wonderful to have met Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of Armenia on the sidelines of the Summit of the Future at the UN earlier today, said Prime Minister Modi in a post on X.

In another post, the Prime Minister said, “Had a great conversation with Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of the Holy See in New York.”

In bilateral talks during the day, PM Modi also met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

At his meeting with Zelensky, Prime Minister reaffirmed India’s “clear, consistent and constructive” approach in favour of a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine through diplomacy and dialogue as well as engagement between all stakeholders.

“Met President Zelensky in New York. Committed to implementing the outcomes of my visit to Ukraine last month for further strengthening bilateral relations. Reiterated India’s support for the early resolution of the conflict in Ukraine and restoration of peace and stability, the Prime Minister wrote in a post on X following the meeting.

This will be the third meeting between PM Modi and President Zelensky in little over three months. Both agreed to maintain close contact.

Prime Minister Modi also met the Vietnamese President To Lam on Monday where he said this meeting will give added momentum to bilateral relations.

We took stock of the full range of India-Vietnam friendship. We look forward to adding momentum in sectors like connectivity, trade, culture, and more,” wrote the Prime Minister of India on X after the meeting. The two nations are further deepening their ties in many areas with a multi-pronged strategic partnership.

And before these meetings, Prime Minister Modi addressed the UN Summit of the Future. PM Modi assured the world and the UN that “India will continue to work in thought, words, and deeds to protect the rights of all humanity and for global prosperity”.
