Puru Rajkumar was born on 30 March 1970 in Mumbai. His full name is Puru Rao Pandit but he changed his screen name when he entered films. Puru Rajkumar made his Bollywood debut with Bal Brahmachari opposite Karisma Kapoor. However, the film proved to be a box office failure.
After this, Puru did not have any work for four years. Then he got a negative role in the film Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai with Aishwarya Rai and Anil Kapoor and the film became a huge success.
However, after this Puru Rajkumar could not survive in the film industry. Many of his films including Mission Kashmir, Khatron Ke Khiladi, Dushmani, LOC Kargil, Jago, Umrao Jaan flopped badly at the box office. According to a report by Box Office India, Puru Rajkumar gave 10 consecutive flop films and after that he left Bollywood forever.
The controversy with Puru Rajkumar was also in the news. In fact, when he was just 23 years old and not even an actor, he was arrested for drunk driving after he crushed eight people sleeping on the footpath in Bandra, Mumbai.
According to information, three people died in this accident. A court case followed where Puru was accused of drunk driving. However, according to a Mid-Day report, both parties reached an out-of-court settlement and the matter was resolved.
