Not Virat or Rohit! Pat Cummins names the Indian batter he will target in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy

Australia Test captain Pat Cummins will target Rishabh Pant in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024. Speaking to Star Sports, Cummins said Australia will have to be careful against Pant as he can change the game.

India will play five Test matches Down Under, starting in November. India have won back-to-back Test series in Australia and will look to complete a hat trick. Pant played a match-winning knock in India National Cricket Team’s win at Gabba to lead the visitors to a series win in the final contest.

“Every team has one or two players who can change the game. Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh are such cricketers for Australia. They will play aggressively. Rishabh Pant has the ability to do the same, and his reverse slap shot is incredible,” Cummins said.

“He has impacted a couple of series, and we will have to keep him quiet,’ he added.

The southpaw recently returned to Test cricket after a two-year break due to a fatal car accident. He struck a hundred in the second innings of the first Test against Bangladesh in Chennai and played a part in India’s win by 280 runs. He was impressive in the Men in Blue’s title triumph in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
