Lam announced the good news on Monday when he posted a video of him and his family during the baby shower. The gender of the baby was later revealed to be a boy. Lam said he is looking forward to the birth of his son.

Lam and Xuan, a personal trainer, got married on July 5 at a resort in beach city Nha Trang. The wedding ceremony was held privately, with only family members and closest friends in attendance.

The couple started dating in 2018 but kept it a secret. After Lam’s family visited Xuan during the Lunar New Year early this year in Ho Chi Minh City, the two started to appear together publicly.

Xuan joined Lam’s parents and siblings at a ceremony in February when he received the Bronze Ball at the 2023 Vietnamese Golden Ball award.

The country are living in HCMC after he left V. League club Binh Dinh in central Vietnam to join lower-tier club HCMC Thanh Nien FC. The 31-year-old goalkeeper will receive more than VND27 billion ($1.09 million) in signing-on fee for a four-year contract with the club in the national first division.

Lam, born to a Vietnamese father and a Russian mother, has been Vietnam’s top goalkeeper for the past eight years. He was in the starting lineup of the national team since 2018, winning the 2018 AFF Cup, reaching the quarter-finals of the 2019 Asian Cup, and advancing to the 2022 World Cup third qualifiers.

Xuan mainly works online.
