September Showers: Heavy Rainfall Predicted for Peninsular and Western India

Heavy Rainfall: The southwest Monsoon has further withdrawn from parts of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Punjab, and Haryana as of September 24, 2024. A cyclonic circulation over the Central Bay of Bengal has formed a low-pressure area, bringing significant weather changes across Westcentral and Northwest Bay, impacting the coastal regions of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha.

Heavy Rainfall Predictions for South Peninsular India

South Peninsular India is expected to experience widespread light to moderate rainfall, particularly in Karnataka, Kerala, Lakshadweep, and Andhra Pradesh. Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka are likely to witness isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall, especially on September 25. Kerala and Mahe will also see heavy rain on September 25, 29, and 30.

Rainfall Expected in West India

West India, including regions like Konkan & Goa, Gujarat, and Madhya Maharashtra, is set to experience significant rainfall. Isolated extremely heavy rainfall is predicted over Konkan & Goa from September 25-26, with similar conditions expected in Gujarat on September 26. Saurashtra & Kutch will also experience heavy rainfall from September 25-28.

Rainfall in Central and East India

Central India, including Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh, will see widespread rainfall with isolated heavy showers on September 25. Eastern regions, including Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh, will experience rainfall during the week, with isolated very heavy rain predicted for Assam & Meghalaya on September 25 and 26.
