GATE 2025: Miss registration deadline, what’s next?

GATE 2025 Registration: The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 registration will be closed on Thursday, September 26. Interested candidates who wish to apply for GATE 2025 can do so on the official website- gate2025.iitr.ac.in. The GATE application fee for general category candidates is Rs 1,800, while for reserved category candidates- Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) categories, the application fee is Rs 900.

Can I apply after closure of application process?

But, candidates who failed to apply for GATE 2025 by September 26, can they apply after the closure of registration process? Though the GATE registration will be closed tomorrow, candidates can apply after September 26 with late fees. GATE registration window with late fee will be closed on October 7. GATE late application fee for general category including international students is Rs 2,300, Women applicants, SC/ ST/ PwD applicants- Rs 1,400.

How to apply?

To apply for GATE 2025, candidates need to visit the official website- gate2025.iitr.ac.in. Click on the GATE 2025 application process link. Initiate the registration process clicking the login window and then register. Fill up the application form with details and click on submit to generate an OTP. Enter the OTP to generate the login credentials. Candidates will receive a unique enrollment ID following the successful registration. Use the unique enrolment ID for the further registration process.

In the next step, candidates need to use a unique enrollment ID and password to initiate the GATE registration 2025 filling process. Fill up the application form with personal details- applicant’s name, parent’s names, birth date, academic qualifications, permanent address. Choose the GATE paper and three cities. Enter the photo ID number and select the photo ID for identity proof.

The next step is to upload documents. The documents to upload are- Passport size photograph, signature in running handwriting, Photo IDs- Aadhar card, Voter ID, PAN card, other details. Category certificate, PwD certificate, other details.

Following that, they need to pay an application fee and accept the declaration statement before submitting. After clicking on the submitting button, save the GATE application form pdf and take a print out.

  • Class 10, 12, graduation, post graduation marksheets
  • Scanned copies of category, PwD certificate
  • Net banking/ debit card/ UPI details for fee payment.
