Chess Olympiad 2024: The role of Indian women in sports is now clearly visible at the global level. After cricket, hockey, boxing, now Indian women have waved their flag in mind games like chess. After the men's team in the Chess Olympiad 2024, the women's team has created history by winning the gold medal. The Chess Olympiad team included Tania Sachdev, Vaishali Rameshbabu, Vantika Agrawal, Harika Dronavalli and Divya Deshmukh.

Tania Sachdev is a resident of Delhi. She received the title of Women Grandmaster in the year 2005. She became the eighth Indian woman to achieve this title. Apart from this, she won the National Women's Premier Chess Championship of India in the years 2006 and 2007.
Divya Deshmukh became India's 21st female chess grandmaster in the year 2021. And in the next year i.e. 2022, she won the Women's Indian Chess Championship. Apart from this, Divya also won an individual bronze medal in the Chess Olympiad.
Vantika Agarwal, who won the bronze medal in the World Youth Chess Championship Under-14 category, won the FIDE Online Chess Olympiad in the year 2020. Apart from this, she has also received the title of Women Grandmaster.
Harika Dronavalli of Andhra Pradesh created history by winning 3 bronze medals in the Women's World Chess Championship in the years 2012, 2015 and 2017.
Rameshbabu Vaishali has won bronze medals in women's team and individual events in the Olympiad held in the year 2022. Vaishali has been awarded the Arjuna Award.
