Tirupati. Tirupati Balaji Laddu Controversy: It was revealed that animal fat was used in the prasad laddus of Tirupati temple. A Gujarat laboratory has reported that during the tenure of the previous state government, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) started using substandard ingredients and animal fat to make laddus offered as prasad. Now politics has heated up over this. Meanwhile, TTD has now officially lodged a complaint in this matter.
TTD General Manager P Murali Krishna has lodged a complaint against AR Dairy Food Private Limited, Dindigul at the East Police Station. Earlier, the government has formed an SIT headed by police officer Uttam Tripathi. G Laddu will investigate the adultery case. Along with this, a day earlier, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has issued a show cause notice to Tamil Nadu-based R Dairy Food Private Limited. Animal fat was allegedly found in four samples of ghee used to make Tirumala temple prasad.
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India has issued a notice to AR Dairy Food Pvt Ltd asking why the company's central licence should not be suspended for violating the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Regulations 2011. The authority said that the samples of ghee (Tirupati Balaji Laddu Controversy) were analysed in the central laboratory, but they did not match the standards. Meanwhile, all the samples supplied by the ghee purchase committee of TTD have been sent for testing to the NDDB Calf Lab in Anand, Gujarat, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India found that the ghee did not meet the standards.
Controversy after Chief Minister's claim
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu recently claimed that substandard material and animal fat were used to make laddus in Tirupati temple during the previous YSRCP government. Also, N. Chandrababu Naidu has announced a special investigation team to investigate these claims. Meanwhile, after this laddu controversy, Tirupati Balaji temple was cleaned on Monday (September 23). During this puja, forgiveness was sought from Lord Venkateshwara Swamy through chanting of mantras. TTD organized this Mahashanti Homa.
