5 Players that RCB will look to retain ahead of the upcoming mega auction for IPL 2025

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is still deciding on the rules for keeping players before the big auction for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, and this is making the teams wait. The teams are trying to figure out the best way to choose their players. Some news says that the BCCI might only let teams keep up to 6 players, which makes it hard for the 10 teams to decide who to keep and who to let go.

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), who did very well last season and made it to the playoffs, also have some hard choices to make before they finalize their list of players to keep. The biggest decision, maybe, is whether to keep their captain, Faf du Plessis, or not.

Here are 5 players RCB might keep before the IPL 2025 big auction:

Virat Kohli: Without a doubt, Virat Kohli is the top choice for the team. Even though he retired from T20 international matches, he still has a lot to contribute to his team. In the 2024 IPL season, he scored the most runs, with 741 runs. RCB wouldn’t even consider letting him go.

Mohammed Siraj: Siraj is clearly the best fast bowler on RCB’s team, and he’s a key player alongside Kohli. While his performance last season was good, the team is still likely to trust him.

Rajat Patidar: Rajat Patidar is a strong middle-order batsman who has been a standout player for RCB in recent years. He is almost guaranteed to keep his spot on the team and faces little competition from other players for his position.

Will Jacks: With Glenn Maxwell not performing well, Will Jacks is expected to team up with Cameron Green for the two overseas spots on the team. However, RCB might not be able to keep both Green and Jacks in the retention list if they decide to choose an Indian player.

Cameron Green/ Yash Dayal: The final call that RCB need to make is that Wheather they need a Indian talented pacer in form of Yash Dayal who did exceptionally well for the franchise with the new ball or they need an all rounder who can contribute with both bat and ball, However Green failed to make an impact as expected in the previous season for the franchise.
