The Supreme Court has ordered deletion of observations made by the Allahabad High Court during the hearing of the bail plea of ​​an accused facing trial under the anti-conversion law in Uttar Pradesh. The Supreme Court said that the High Court’s comments during the bail hearing of the accused were unnecessary and had no connection with the decision on bail.

The Supreme Court said that these observations made in the judgment should not be cited in any other case. In fact, Allahabad High Court, while rejecting the bail plea of ​​accused Kailash, had said that if the religious gatherings leading to conversions are not stopped immediately, then the majority population of the country will one day become a minority. Kailash is accused of being involved in the conversion of many people of a village in Hamirpur. During the hearing today, the Supreme Court said that the accused is in custody since May 2023. In such a situation, he is ordering the release of the accused on bail.
