BIG change in wealth of world’s richest men

Neither Mukesh Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Industries, nor Adani Group chief Gautam Adani, feature in the top ten in the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. While Ambani is ranked 12th, Adani, who has witnessed a massive uptick in his fortunes in recent years, stands firm at 14th.

In a major shift in the rankings of world’s richest people, no Indian billionaire features in the top ten list of world’s wealthiest persons. As per the latest Bloomberg Billionaires Index 2024, no Indian business magnate is ranked amongst the top ten billionaires which is led by Tesla CEO Elon Musk, the richest person in the world with a net worth of over $268 billion dollars.

Neither Mukesh Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Industries, nor Adani Group chief Gautam Adani, feature in the top ten in the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. While Ambani is ranked 12th, Adani, who has witnessed a massive uptick in his fortunes in recent years, stands firm at 14th.

Notably, only three billion are part of the super-exclusive $200 million club, Elon Musk — the CEO of Tesla and the world’s richest person, followed by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, and more recently Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, has recently joined the $200 billion club.

Coming in on number four in the list boasting a net worth of $178 billion, is Larry Ellison whose fortunes increased by a massive $55.5 billion  in 2024. Closely behind Ellison, stands Bernard Arnault at number five with a net worth of $177 billion.

Asia’s richest person, Mukesh Ambani, whose wealth surged by $557 million in 2024, does not feature in the top ten list. Similarly, Gautam Adani, who $1.57 billion to his fortune this year, is also not on the list,

However, both Indian billionaires are part of the $100 million club which only has 18 members, standing at 12th and 14th ranks, respectively.
