During Pitru Paksha, offerings to ancestors, Pind Daan, Shraddha etc. are performed. It is believed that ancestors come to earth during this time. In such a situation, people satisfy their ancestors to get their blessings.

It is important to take special care during Pitru Paksha

People also provide food to Brahmins, so that the souls of their ancestors can rest in peace. May they receive his blessings and may they return from here happy. It is believed that serving food to Brahmins during Pitru Paksha is auspicious. But, it is important to take special care of what should be given in food. During this time, some things should not be served in their plate even by mistake. Especially, two types of vegetables should not be fed at all.

Do not feed this vegetable

If you do not feed food to Brahmins during Pitru Paksha then it is considered incomplete. In such a situation even Shraddha is not completed. It is believed that when you offer food to Brahmins during Shraddha, it directly reaches the ancestors. If you are also thinking of feeding Brahmins, then while buying vegetables, do not buy or cook cabbage and pumpkin vegetables. Kumhra is also called Kohda, Kaddu, Petha, Ash Guard etc.

Of course, the pumpkin plant is considered medicinal in Ayurveda, but it is not auspicious to include both these vegetables in the Brahmin feast during Pitru Paksha. Ancestors do not accept these vegetables. They may return angry. In such a situation, one should avoid eating or feeding them during Shraddha rituals.
