Atishi took oath as the new Chief Minister of Delhi

Latest News :- Aam Aadmi Party's Adishi took oath as the new Chief Minister of Delhi at a ceremony at the Raj Niwas on Saturday evening. Along with him, 5 ministers also took oath. Adishi took oath as the Chief Minister today after being appointed by President Draupati Murmu yesterday. Along with Adishi, five members of Arvind Kejriwal's cabinet – Gopal Rai, Saurabh Bhardwaj, Kailash Khelat, Imran Hussain and first-time MLA Mukesh Ahalwad took oath as ministers. Governor VK Saxena administered the oath of office to all the ministers including Chief Minister Adishi.

Earlier, the Union Home Ministry had announced in the Gazette that “President Drabupati Murmu is pleased to appoint Adishi of Aam Aadmi Party as the Chief Minister of Delhi. Similarly, the President has also accepted the resignation of Arvind Kejriwal. Kejriwal was released on bail from Delhi's Tihar Jail on 13th in the liquor policy corruption case. After this, Arvind Kejriwal, who had announced his resignation from the post of Chief Minister on Sunday, resigned from his post on Tuesday (September 17). Subsequently, Adishi, the only woman minister in the Delhi cabinet, was unanimously elected Legislative Assembly Speaker of the Aam Aadmi Party.

Kalkaji MLA Adishi Marlena was handling most of the departments in the Aam Aadmi Party government. In such a situation, he took oath as the Chief Minister of Delhi today. With this, Adishi has become the 17th woman Chief Minister of independent India and the third woman Chief Minister of Delhi. However, with Delhi Assembly elections due in a few months, he will be chief minister only for a short period.
