BJP took a dig at Congress regarding Karnataka MUDA scam, said this big thing

New Delhi : Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla on Friday sharply criticized the Karnataka Congress government for withdrawing general consent to the CBI probe into the MUDA scam. Accusing the Congress of promoting corruption and misusing power, Poonawalla said the party has turned into a “brother of corruption” instead of running a “shop of love”.

Addressing the press conference, Poonawalla raised questions on Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's continuation in the post. He alleged that Congress rule revolves around corruption and its leaders are engaged in providing benefits of power to their family members. He said, “Congress is a ‘land-linked’ party because wherever they come to power, they register land in the name of their relatives. Be it the National Herald case, the 'son-in-law' case in Haryana or the Chief Minister's wife case in Karnataka.”

Citing the alleged MUDA scam in Karnataka, Poonawalla said the Congress has withdrawn the general consent of the CBI to protect itself from corruption. He alleged that the attitude of the Congress is like that of professional thieves, first stealing and then taking steps to evade the law. Poonawalla said that the Congress party is promoting corruption across the country, and the latest example of this has been seen in Karnataka. The Congress government deliberately took this step to stop the CBI investigation. The main objective of Congress is to indulge in corruption and then play the victim card. He alleged that the Congress party is making every effort to stop investigating agencies from entering the state so that their scams can be covered up.

Poonawalla also said that Karnataka Governor Thaawar Chand Gehlot had given consent to investigate the MUDA scam, after which the Congress insulted the Governor and used abusive language against him. He said, “Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has faced three major attacks – first from the Governor, second from the Karnataka High Court order, and third from a special court. “Despite this, the Congress party challenged the Governor’s decision and used derogatory language.”

Poonawalla alleged that the Congress party is not ready to accept the Governor's decision and has made every possible effort to stop the CBI investigation by ignoring judicial orders. He said, “The Congress party claims to run a ‘love shop’, but when they are asked questions, they misbehave with journalists. This shows that they are engaged in intimidating the media and misusing power.”

The BJP spokesperson said that Congress's move to stop CBI from entering the state reflects its faulty mentality. He said, “It is clear that the Congress government of Karnataka is trying to stop the CBI from investigating the scam. “Since coming to power, the Congress has made every effort to thwart the investigation instead of facing the allegations of corruption.” On Thursday, the Karnataka government withdrew the general consent given to the CBI in the state, further intensifying the political debate on the issue. BJP has called it an attempt to hide corruption.
