Jammu Kashmir 2024: Politics has heated up regarding the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. In the second phase of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections on Wednesday, more than 56 percent voters exercised their franchise for 26 seats. Officials said that voting was peaceful amid tight security. Long queues of voters were seen at polling stations in 26 major constituencies across six districts since morning, but turnout in 20 of these constituencies was slightly lower than the 2014 assembly elections, when the overall turnout was 60 per cent.
