Kalparambh- 9 October 2024

According to the scriptures, on Kalparambh day, Goddess Durga, Mother Saraswati and Goddess Lakshmi come to earth along with Kartikeya-Ganesha. Kalparambh puja is performed at the auspicious time of the morning. On this day, the curtain is removed from the idol of Maa Durga in Bengal. The rituals of Kalparambh are similar to Bilva Nimantras celebrated in other states.

Bilv Invitation – 8 October 2024

  • Bilva invitation time – 03:39 pm to 05:59 pm

Goddess Durga is invited to reside in the Bilva tree or Kalash. This ritual of invoking Goddess Durga is known as Invocation. The combination of evening and Shashthi is the most suitable time for Bilva Puja.

Navpatrika Puja- 10 October 2024

The day of Navpatrika Puja is also known as Maha Saptami. On the day of Maha Saptami, Goddess Durga is invoked in a group of nine plants called Navapatrika. On this day the Goddess is also given a great bath.

Sindoor Khela- 12 October 2024

This day is the last day of Durga Puja. On this day, married women offer red vermillion to the mother and apply vermillion to the married woman. It is believed that this grants the blessing of unbroken good fortune.
