Madhya Pradesh has once again hoisted its flag in the Best Rural Tourism Competition of the Union Tourism Ministry. On the occasion of International Tourism Day, Pranpur, Sabarwani and Ladpura Khas of Madhya Pradesh have been declared the best tourist villages of the country. Pranpur has been selected in the craft category and Sabarwani and Ladpura Khas have been selected in the responsible tourism category. Entries were received from a total of 900 villages across the country, out of which 36 villages were selected for the Best Tourism Village.

Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board’s Additional Managing Director Bidisha Mukherjee received this honor along with rural representatives in a function organized at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on Friday. The Best Tourism Village Competition is organized by the Union Ministry of Tourism with the objective of promoting community-based values ​​and lifestyle while preserving cultural and natural resources.

Important towards promoting tourism

Principal Secretary Tourism and Culture Department and Managing Director Madhya Pradesh. Tourism Board Shiv Shekhar Shukla said, “We are proud that Pranpur, Sabarwani and Ladpura Khas villages of the state have been selected in the best tourism village competition. This achievement is a testament to our commitment towards promoting rural tourism. In these villages, not only have local culture and traditions been preserved, but efforts have also been made to economically empower the local communities through tourism. “We are determined to take this initiative further, so that other rural areas of the state also get a proper place on the tourism map.”

Villages will get world class recognition

Additional Managing Director Bidisha Mukherjee said that by being honored as the best tourist village, Pranpur, Sabarwani and Ladpura Khas will get world class recognition. There will be an increase in the arrival of domestic and foreign tourists, which will increase local employment and develop the village economy. Ancient arts, crafts and cultural traditions will be preserved in the villages, so that this heritage will remain safe for the coming generations. In 2023, Madla of Panna district and Khokhara of Sidhi district were declared the best tourist villages.

About Pranpur

4 km from Chanderi Tehsil of Ashoknagar district. Door Pranpur has been developed as the country’s first craft handloom tourism village. Here handloom weaving work is done in about 243 houses of weavers, about 900 weavers weave chanderi clothes on about 550 handlooms in the village. On 06 March 2024, M.P. The project was launched by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, Union Civil Aviation and Steel Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.

Situated in the heart of the Bundelkhand cultural region, Ladpura Khaas provides a unique opportunity to guests to experience the finest Bundeli culture and traditions. Surrounded by charming landscapes, valleys, agricultural fields and rural life, Ladpura Khas is full of picturesque views of nature.
