Decoration work is in full swing in the temples. During the nine days of Navratri, people worship the Mother Goddess and observe fast. If you are thinking of fasting for Navratri, then make preparations in advance.

There are many things available in the market for fasting, but home made things have a different taste. Today we will tell you the recipe of chikki made from makhana. Let us know the method of making it:

Material:

  • Makhana: 100 grams
  • White sesame: 50 grams
  • Jaggery: 250 grams
  • Peanuts: 100 grams
  • Dry ginger powder: half teaspoon
  • Black pepper powder: half teaspoon
  • Cardamom powder: half teaspoon
  • Sweet Soda: 2 pinches

Method:

  1. To make Makhana Chikki, first dry roast the Makhana properly. When the makhana is cooked well, dry roast the peanuts and grind them coarsely.
  2. Then roast the sesame seeds lightly. Put pieces of jaggery in a pan and make syrup on low flame.
  3. Keep in mind that the syrup should become hard i.e. crystal like. When the jaggery becomes hard and starts breaking, then understand that the syrup is ready.
  4. After the syrup is ready, add black pepper, cardamom powder and dry ginger powder, along with 2 pinches of sweet soda and mix well.
  5. Now add the mixture of makhana and peanuts to the hot syrup and mix well. Then add roasted sesame seeds also. All things have to be mixed in hot syrup only. Spread the mixture on a large plate greased with ghee. After about an hour your Makhana Chikki will be ready.

This Navratri, enjoy this delicious and healthy chikki!
