Rishab Shetty clarified on controversial comment

Mumbai Mumbai. Rishabh Shetty gained popularity across the country for his 2022 action thriller Kantara, which won the National Award for Popular Film, Wholesome Entertainment and the Best Actor trophy. Now, the actor has finally spoken about his controversial comments about Bollywood in which he said it has shown India “in a bad light”. During his appearance at IFFA Utsavam 2024, the Kannada actor said that his statement was twisted and he did not mean it.

For those unaware, Rishabh Shetty received severe criticism for his remarks against Bollywood and was trolled a lot. He had said, “Indian films, especially Bollywood, show India in a bad light. These art films are invited to global events and given red carpets. My country, my state, my language – my pride. It is Why not be taken positively on a global level, and that's what I try to do.”

Rishabh was asked about his controversy during his appearance on the green carpet in Abu Dhabi. On this he clarified, “What I said got a little mixed up. Further clarification or explanation, I will sit at a good place and talk.” At the IIFA festival, the actor was honored for “Outstanding Excellence in Kannada Cinema”.
