Football: Santosh's hat-trick, Hindustan FC won

In the DSA Premier League, CISF opened its account with a big win by defeating Tarun Sangha Football Club 5-0 in a one-sided match played at Ambedkar Stadium on Friday and earned full points.

The highlight of CISF's victory was Santosh's hat-trick. In the second match of the day, first league winner Vatika FC suffered a one-goal defeat at the hands of Hindustan FC. The winning goal was scored by Thangmin Lane Misaw from a penalty awarded before the long whistle. Even though Thangmin was adjudged man of the match, the hero of the match was Vatika's goalie Yash Kulkarni who made beautiful saves on several occasions.

The highlight of CISF's victory was the brilliant hat-trick of its star striker Santosh Kumar. Santosh opened the team's account in the sixth minute and completed a hat-trick by scoring the team's fifth goal in the last minute. As a reward, he was declared Man of the Match. Santosh is the first player in the third Premier League to score a hat-trick.

Bhola Singh and Aditya scored one goal each. Tarun Sangha, decorated with players from North East, made sporadic moves but could not penetrate the strong defense of CISF and goal keeper Mahato made better saves.

The first match played between Premier League winners Vatika and Hindustan FC had ups and downs. Although India performed better, the efforts of the forward line were repeatedly thwarted by Goli Yash Kulkarni. Yash saved Vatika from a major defeat by making half a dozen beautiful saves. One thing is certain that the first Premier League winner Vatika did not have the same shine this time.
