Honor X9c Could Launch Soon as Company Teases New ‘Toughest’ Smartphone

Honor teased that it would soon be launching an upcoming smartphone in Malaysia. The handset in question has been called a “toughest” from the company, suggesting a potential successor to the Honor X9b could be in line. Though the company did not spill too much about the said device, it did tease a letter “C”, which could be part of the name of said device. Notable is Honor X9b which was unveiled in India, February. The Ultra-Bounce Anti Drop technology designed to absorb impact up to 1.2 times the drop.

Honor X9c Launch Teased

According to Honor Malaysia, its purported “toughest” smartphone will first land via the Beta Experiencer Program. The handset may be called Honor X9c, as teased by the company. It is the first ever mention of the smartphone from the company, in any case.

It has teased the launch of this smartphone, but no specifications of it have been revealed until now. It may build on the features that Honor X9b offers.

Honor X9b Features and Specifications

Honor X9b features a 6.78-inch 1.5K curved AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate and 1,200×2,652 pixel resolution. It features an Ultra-Bounce Anti Drop display that can allegedly survive drops of up to 1.5m. The phone is further powered by a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset and has 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

The camera at the back consists of a triple camera setup, including a 108-megapixel primary camera, a 5-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 2-megapixel macro camera. On the front side, there’s a 16-megapixel camera for photography. The handset will also feature an in-display fingerprint scanner for unlocking the device through biometric authentication.

Under the hood, it packs a 5,800mAh battery with support for 35W wired fast charging. Connectivity is taken care of through 5G, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC and USB Type-C. The Honor X9b carries an IP53 rating against dust and water ingress. Available in two colorways – Midnight Black and Sunrise Orange.
