Kangana's 'emergency' banned in Punjab, SGPC announces screening

Kangana Raunaut Emergency not screening  in Punjab: Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut's film Emergency has been embroiled in controversies even before its release. The screening of this film has been banned in Punjab. In its executive committee meeting, the SGPC passed a resolution demanding a ban on the “controversial film”. The executive committee of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) on Saturday said that it will not allow the screening of Kangana Ranaut's film 'Emergency' in Punjab.

Let us tell you that regarding Kangana's film, some Sikh organizations have accused the producers of misrepresenting the community and misrepresenting historical facts. Only after this the film got embroiled in controversies.

There will be no emergency screening in Punjab

Dhami, who was presiding over the meeting of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, said, 'Apart from defaming Sikhs, the film has shown Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale in a wrong way, which the community cannot tolerate. This film has been made in the spirit of spewing venom and spreading hatred against the community as part of an anti-Sikh agenda. We will not allow it to be released in Punjab. The Central Board of Film Certification told the Bombay High Court on 26 September that an emergency certificate would be issued if certain cuts were made as recommended by the review committee.

The film was to be released on 6 September

The film was earlier scheduled to release on September 6, but is stuck in a dispute with the Censor Board over not issuing the certificate for its release. Let us tell you that Kangana herself has acted and directed this film. Kangana is in the lead role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the film. The way for the release of the film Emergency has not been cleared yet.. The Censor Board has made it clear in the court that it will not give the green signal for the release of the film without cuts.
