Musheer Khan injured in car accident, out of Mumbai's Irani Cup match

Mumbai batsman Musheer Khan has been reported injured in a car accident while traveling from Azamgarh to Lucknow, ruling him out of Mumbai's Irani Cup match against Rest of India.

However, the severity of the injury is not yet known. 19-year-old Mushir Khan, brother of Indian batsman Sarfaraz Khan, was scheduled to join his teammates in Lucknow for the Irani Cup tie to be played at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow from October 1.

Meanwhile, the Mumbai Cricket Association is yet to announce any replacement for the batsman.

Musheer is also likely to miss the opening round of Mumbai's 2024-25 Ranji Trophy season, which begins on October 11. Musheer last played for India B in the Duleep Trophy, making his debut in the tournament against India A in Bengaluru earlier this month.
