With this, the company now has five products in two-wheelers certified under the PLI scheme, Ola Electric said in a statement. The company spokesperson said, “Achieving PLI certification for the product validates our integrated manufacturing strength, which is an important achievement in pursuing India's electric vehicle goal.

The spokesperson said that the government's ambitious automotive PLI scheme has been a major transformational step. This has inspired manufacturers to enhance local supply chains, promote domestic manufacturing and help companies achieve broader economic growth. The company's scooter with a 2 kWh-R battery pack is affordable and packed with value for money features. The company also provides a 3 kWh-R battery pack with it which gives a longer range.

How much will it last on a single charge?
Ola Electric has priced the S1X with 2 kWh-R battery pack at a starting ex-showroom price of Rs 74,999 with a subsidy of Rs 10,000. Talking about S1X Plus, its price has been kept at Rs 99,999. The company has equipped the expensive variant of the electric scooter with only 3 kWh-R battery pack. A range of 151 km/charge is claimed with this battery pack, while its top speed is said to be 90 km/hour. This EV accelerates from 0-40 km/h in just 3.3 seconds.
