Mominul Haque Cashes in After Virat Kohli Drops His Catch to Score 13th Test Century – WATCH

Former Bangladeshi captain and star middle-order batter Mominul Haque was batting on 95 runs from 169 balls when a ball by Mohammed Siraj kissed an edge of his bat and went straight to the first slip where Virat Kohli was fielding. But the star Indian cricketer failed to complete the catch and gave a lifeline to Momimul.

The video of Kohli’s dropping a routine catch in slips to give a lifeline to Mominul is now going viral on the internet.

The 33-year-old cricketer, who came out to bat at No. 3 for the Najmul Hossain Shanto-led side in the ongoing second Test at Green Park in Kanpur, made the most of the opportunity and went on to score his 13th Test century.

He reached the triple-figure mark with a four on the second ball of 66th over bowled by Ravichandran Ashwin.

The all-time leading century maker for Bangladesh in Tests has faced a total of 176 balls so far and has hammered 16 fours and one six. He added 51 runs for the third wicket with captain Shanto on Day 1 of the ongoing Test.

The right-handed batter will be a key player for Bangladesh in the first innings because if he manages to convert his century into a big score, then Bangladesh’s chances of playing a draw against India in the ongoing match will increase.

Due to rain and wet outfield, no play was possible on the second and third days of the Kanpur Test.

In the morning session of Day 4, Indian bowlers managed to take three wickets. Jasprit Bumrah opened the proceedings for India and got rid of Mushiqur Rahim. The all-time leading run scorer for Bangladesh in international cricket was clean bowled by Bumrah. Mohammed Siraj then joined the party by dismissing Litton Das. The Bangladeshi wicketkeeper-batter was caught by Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, who completed a brilliant one-handed catch.

Siraj then completed a super catch of Ashwin’s bowling in the 56th over to bring an end to Shakib Al Hasan’s innings of nine runs from 17 batters. The former Bangladeshi captain tried to play a big shot against Ashwin but failed to connect the ball properly, and it went straight up. Siraj perfectly judged the catch and completed it with his left hand.
