WhatsApp Introduces Status Reactions And Mentions Just Like Instagram
WhatsApp has finally rolled out new features for Status updates that will make sure that your loved ones don’t miss it. To make it better the way users interact with status updates, WhatsApp has rolled out Status Likes and Mentions on both iOS and Android platforms. The arrival of the Status Like feature and the ability to mention contacts are set to improve user experience, making it easier to connect with friends and family.
Is the mentioned feature similar to the existing option on Instagram? How does it work? Know all the details.
WhatsApp Status Likes
One of the key updates is the Status Like feature, which allows users to react to status updates with a heart emoji. With just a tap, you will be able to quickly express your love or appreciation to someone’s WhatsApp Status without the need to reply to it or send it as mentioned. How will it be different from the existing feature? When you will like a status, the person who posted it will get a notification.
WhatsApp Status Private Mentions
In addition to likes for WhatsApp statuses, the Meta-owned instant messaging app has also rolled out private mentions in status updates. Sounds familiar? This feature will allow you to tag specific contacts about a specific status which will ensure that they receive a notification about the status. Again, the WhatsApp mention remains hidden from other viewers to keep the privacy of both the sender and the recipient.
Moreover, the mentioned contacts will have the option to reshare the status. This seems similar to the Instagram’s Story Mention but while resharing, users will have the option to keep the identity of the original poster secret.
When Will You Get These?
WhatsApp has confirmed that the Status Like and private mention features are currently being rolled out. To access these features, you need to install the latest updates from the Google Play Store for Android and the App Store for iOS. While some users may have already noticed these updates, WhatsApp aims to make them available to more users in the coming weeks.
