IND vs BAN: Former Bangladesh captain Mahmudullah will retire from T20

Mumbai. Mumbai Former Bangladesh captain Mahmudullah has announced his retirement from T20 international matches after the ongoing series in India. If 38-year-old Mahmudullah plays in the last two matches against India in Delhi and Hyderabad, he will retire with 141 T20 Internationals. Mahmudullah has so far scored 2,395 runs at an average of 23.48, which includes eight half-centuries to his name. He has also taken 40 wickets with right-arm off-spin bowling. “Yes, I am retiring from T20 Internationals after the last match of this series. It was already decided,” he said in the pre-match press conference ahead of the second T20 International against India. “It is the right time to move on from this format and focus on ODIs,” he said. Mahmudullah had retired from Test cricket in 2021 itself. He played 50 matches, in which he scored 2,914 runs with 5 centuries and 16 fifties.
