Kerala: Horrific bus accident in Kozhikode, bus collides with wall and falls into river, two killed, many injured

Kozhikode : In a tragic bus accident in Kerala's Kozhikode district on Tuesday, two elderly women were killed and around 20 others were injured when a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation bus met with an accident. The accident occurred when the bus fell off the road after hitting a wall near Thiruvambadi and overturned in a nearby river. Let us tell you that there were about 50 passengers in the bus.

According to the police, one of the deceased women was 63 years old and the other was 75 years old. The passengers injured in the accident were immediately admitted to nearby hospitals, where the condition of many remains critical. Officials said that this accident happened around 2 o'clock in the day.

An official of Thiruvambady police station informed that the bus lost control after hitting the wall and fell into the river. This bus was going from Karnataka towards different parts of Kerala. After the incident, the local people immediately started the rescue operation and took the injured out of the bus. Police and emergency services were also soon called to the scene.

Police said that investigation has been started to find out the actual cause of the accident. Preliminary investigation has revealed that the bus went out of control at a turn, but the exact cause of the accident is not yet clear. “Statements of the passengers are being recorded and a case will be registered on the basis of that,” said an official from Thiruvambady police station.
