The third phase of the strike of Uttar Pradesh Secondary Teachers Association concluded today.

Lucknow. In the third phase of the state-wide struggle of the Uttar Pradesh Secondary Teachers Association of the capital Lucknow, a congregational protest took place today at the Office of the Joint Director of Education, Lucknow. Before the conclusion of the dharna, amidst heavy rain, a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister was handed over to Joint Education Director, Lucknow Division Dr. Pradeep Kumar by Regional Vice President Dr. RP Mishra, General Secretary Narendra Kumar Verma, Divisional President Tulsi Ram Mishra, Divisional Minister Jagjivan Prasad Shukla. The Joint Director of Education assured to send the memorandum to the Chief Minister.

On this occasion, District School Inspector Rakesh Kumar, State President Suresh Kumar Tripathi, Teacher Vidyalaya Dhruv Kumar Tripathi, MLC leader teacher group were present. Regional Vice President of the organization, Dr. RP Mishra said that the main points in the memorandum are restoration of old pension, implementation of sections 21, 18 and 12 of the Secondary Education Selection Board, free medical facilities, reinstatement of ad-hoc teachers and full salary payment. 24-point demands like formation of Eighth Pay Commission etc. are included.

Addressing the protest, State President Suresh Kumar Tripathi said that some demands have been fulfilled by the government but restoration of old pension, Section 21 related to service security of teachers and Section 18 and 12 related to promotion of Principal and teachers, free medical facilities etc. We have old demands, which our aim is to fulfill. If effective action is not taken on the demands, then the next steps of the struggle will be decided in the meeting of the State Council on 10th November. The meeting was conducted by Divisional Minister Jagjivan Prasad Shukla.

Leader of teachers' group in Legislative Council, Dhruv Kumar Tripathi, MLC, while addressing the protest, said that he was involved in the government level meeting regarding ad-hoc teachers and he assured for regularization of ad-hoc teachers and also payment of salaries. He said that subject specialist teachers should also be given the benefit of old pension and if there is any hindrance, it should be removed.

Prominent in the dharna were State President Suresh Kumar Tripathi, Dhruv Kumar Tripathi, MLC and leader of teacher group, State Vice President and spokesperson Dr. RP Mishra, General Secretary Narendra Kumar Verma, Patron Rameshwar Upadhyay, State Minister Dr. RK Trivedi, Divisional President Tulsi Ram Mishra, Divisional Minister Jagjivan Prasad Shukla, Member State Executive Kaushal Kishore Mishra, Ameer Ahmed, Arvind Kumar Verma, Uma Shankar Tiwari, Dr. Meeta Srivastava, Rajiv Kumar Mishra, Deen Mohd. Rizvi, Lucknow District President Anil Sharma, District Minister Mahesh Chandra, Hardoi District President Rajiv. Mishra, Rae Bareli District President Rakesh Kumar Mishra, District Minister Shailesh Bajpai, Lakhimpur District Minister Vishil Verma, Sitapur District Minister Sanjay Kumar, Unnao District President Shivbhan Singh Chauhan and hundreds of teachers of the board were present.
