Lalu Yadav's son-in-law got ticket in by-election, SP made Tej Pratap its candidate from Karhal.

Patna: RJD President Lalu Yadav's son-in-law and former MP Tej Pratap has been made its candidate by Samajwadi Party in the by-election from Karhal seat. On Wednesday, Samajwadi Party released the list of six candidates for the assembly elections to be held in Uttar Pradesh, in which Tej Pratap has been made the candidate from Karhal seat.

Tej Pratap was also made a candidate in the Lok Sabha elections, but in his place, at the last moment, party president Akhilesh Yadav himself contested the elections and won. Another son-in-law of Lalu Yadav, Rao Chiranjeevi, is also in politics, who stood as a Congress candidate from Rewari in the Haryana Assembly elections but was defeated in the election results declared on Tuesday. He was defeated by BJP's Laxman Singh Yadav by 27 thousand votes.
