SP declared 6 candidates for Uttar Pradesh Assembly by-election, glimpse of familyism seen

New Delhi. Samajwadi Party has declared its candidates for 6 seats for the by-elections to be held on 10 assembly seats of Uttar Pradesh. The glimpse of family is clearly visible in this list. The first name in the list is that of Tej Pratap Yadav, nephew of Akhilesh Yadav and son-in-law of Lalu Prasad Yadav. Akhilesh has declared Tej Pratap as the candidate from Karhal assembly seat of Mainpuri district. Akhilesh had first given ticket to Tej Pratap from Kannauj in the Lok Sabha elections and later he himself contested from there in his place. At that time there was talk that Tej Pratap was angry with Akhilesh because his ticket was canceled. But now Akhilesh has removed Tej Pratap's resentment.

The second name in this list is that of Naseem Solanki, who has been declared the SP candidate from Sisamau seat of Kanpur. Naseem Solanki is the wife of former Sisamau MLA Irfan Solanki. Irfan has been sentenced to seven years in prison for occupying a woman's house and arson, due to which he lost his MLA seat and the seat became vacant. The third name is that of Mustafa Siddiqui who has been given ticket from Phulpur. Mustafa Siddiqui has already contested elections from Phulpur.

Akhilesh has fielded Ajit Prasad from Milkipur. Ajit is the son of Ayodhya's SP MP Awadhesh Prasad. SP has given ticket to Shobhavati Verma from Katehari Assembly. Shobhawati is the wife of Ambedkar Nagar SP MP Lalji Verma and has been a member of the District Panchayat. Jyoti Bind will contest from Majhwana on SP ticket. Jyoti is the daughter of SP leader Ramesh Bind. In this list, Akhilesh Yadav has approved the names of the candidates while giving importance to the PDA formula along with familyism.
