Budgam Election Result 2024: Omar Abdullah won from Budgam seat by 18 thousand votes, defeated PDP

Budgam Election Result 2024: Counting of votes for all rounds of Budgam assembly seat of Jammu and Kashmir has been completed. From here, National Conference candidate Omar Abdullah has won by 18359 votes. Counting of votes on this seat was to take place in a total of 13 rounds, which has been completed. However, in the initial trends from this seat, the National Conference Party was leading.

Apart from this, Omar Abdullah is also contesting from Ganderbal Assembly seat. Counting of votes on this seat is to take place in a total of 25 rounds. Till the time of writing this news, fourteen rounds of counting have been done. According to this, Omar Abdullah is leading from rival PDP candidate Bashir Ahmed Mir by 8558 votes.

Counting of votes continues amid tight security

The counting of votes cast for the elections for 90 assembly seats of Jammu and Kashmir is being done amidst tight security. However, this is the last phase of the election journey. In 2019, the Union Territory will get its first elected government since the abrogation of Article 370 that gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir.

First assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir after 2014

This is the first assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir after 2014. There was 64 percent voting in this election. Of the 90 seats in Kashmir Valley and Jammu region, voting was held on 24 seats in the first phase on September 18, 26 seats in the second phase on September 25 and 40 seats in the third phase on October 1. Counting of votes will decide the fate of 873 candidates trying their luck in the 90-member assembly elections.

In the initial trends of vote counting itself, the situation here was clearly visible as to where the mandate of the people of Jammu and Kashmir is, it seems to be very clear. Jammu and Kashmir does not seem to be coming into the hands of BJP. According to the trends, National Conference and Congress alliance is leading on 46 seats. Whereas BJP is ahead on 29 seats. PDP is leading on 4 seats, while JPC is leading on 1 seat and Independent on 8 seats.
