Uttarakhand to host 38th National Games from 28 January 2025; full program to be released this month

Dehradun: The 38th National Games will take place in Uttarakhand from January 28 to February 14, 2025. The full program is set to be unveiled during the Indian Olympic Association’s general assembly meeting on October 25, 2024.

In addition to the National Games, Uttarakhand will also host the Winter National Games. Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met with Indian Olympic Association President Dr. PT Usha in New Delhi on Wednesday to discuss the arrangements.

National Games will be organized in a grand manner in Uttarakhand

Chief Minister Dhami announced that Uttarakhand is fully prepared to host the 38th National Games, with substantial infrastructure already in place. He assured that the Games will be organized on a grand scale in Uttarakhand. Drawing from the experiences of states that have previously hosted the National Games, efforts will be made to organize the event in an even better manner in Uttarakhand.

National Games in Uttarakhand will also boost up the morale of the people

The Chief Minister stated that, in addition to excellent arrangements for the games, better facilities will be provided for players and visitors from across the country during the National Games in Uttarakhand. He emphasized that hosting the National Games in Uttarakhand will boost the morale and enthusiasm of the local people. Uttarakhand will gain a significant platform through the event, offering a great opportunity for our emerging athletes to advance.

Matter of fortune for the state

The Chief Minister emphasized that it is a matter of great fortune for Uttarakhand to host the 38th National Games. He expressed gratitude to the President of the Indian Olympic Association, Dr. P.T. Usha, for entrusting Uttarakhand with this responsibility. The Chief Minister assured that efforts will be made to organize the National Games in an exemplary manner, surpassing previous editions. He also extended an invitation to Dr. P.T. Usha to visit Shri Badrinath and Shri Kedarnath. Special Principal Secretary Sports Amit Sinha and Resident Commissioner Ajay Mishra were also present on the occasion.
