Latehar, Jharkhand: In a tragic incident in Latehar district of Jharkhand, four youths died due to lightning, while two others were seriously injured. This incident happened on Wednesday evening when all the youth were working on laying stones in the boundary. To escape the sudden rain, they took shelter under a bridge located in the market, but during this time they got hit by a thunderstorm.
According to local sources, all the youths were working all day and had stayed under the bridge to escape the rain. As soon as they were taking shelter there, there was a thunderbolt with a loud sound, due to which four youths died on the spot. Two other youths were seriously injured and were immediately admitted to a nearby hospital.
The condition of the injured is said to be serious and doctors are trying their best to save their lives. The local administration and police reached the spot soon after the incident, and the bodies were sent for postmortem. Besides, local people also contributed to the relief work by reaching the hospital to help the injured youth.
This incident has created an atmosphere of mourning in the entire area. The family members of the deceased are in bad condition, crying. The local panchayat has demanded from the administration financial assistance to the families of the deceased and help for the treatment of the injured. Panchayat members and local leaders are also expressing grief over the incident and terming it an unexpected accident.
