Govt Launches ‘Hamsafar’ Policy For Highways: Toilets, Rooms, Parking To Be Provided For All

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari introduced the ‘Humsafar Policy’ on Tuesday, aimed at improving essential services along India’s national highways. The policy includes clean toilets, baby care rooms, wheelchair access, EV charging stations, parking, and dormitory services at fuel stations. This initiative will provide a safer and more comfortable experience for travelers, while also empowering entrepreneurs and creating jobs.

The ‘Humsafar Policy’ focuses on providing essential amenities such as clean toilets and baby care rooms at strategic points along the highways. It will also offer provisions for wheelchairs, electric vehicle charging stations, parking spaces, and dormitory services at fuel stations, enhancing convenience for all highway users.
