Shashi Tharoor gave grand welcome to Sanju Samson in Thiruvananthapuram, honored him with traditional shawl

sports desk : Kerala MP Shashi Tharoor recently honored Indian wicketkeeper batsman Sanju Samson, who scored his first century in T20 International. Shashi Tharoor gave him a grand welcome by giving him Ponnada, the traditional shawl of Thiruvananthapuram.

Sanju Samson completed 100 runs in 40 balls in the third T20 match against Bangladesh. He played an inning of 111 runs in 47 balls. He has become the second Indian batsman to score the fastest century. Although Sanju Samson could not perform in the first two matches, he silenced the critics by scoring a century in the third match.

After playing a century in Hyderabad, Sanju Samson was given a grand welcome in Thiruvananthapuram. Shashi Tharoor welcomed Sanju Samson to his home. Shashi Tharoor tweeted that he is happy to welcome Sanju Samson after his brilliant innings against Bangladesh.

Tharoor has been continuously supporting Sanju Samson

Shashi Tharoor has continuously supported Sanju Samson. He said that Sanju Samson has not got much opportunities in the Indian team. When Samson was dropped from the team for the Sri Lanka tour in July, Tharoor had hit out at the selection committee. The Rajasthan Royals captain went to India's T20 World Cup 2024 and could not be included in the playing 11. After which he visited Zimbabwe. But he was dropped from the Sri Lanka tour.

While tweeting, he wrote, “The selection of the Indian team for the Sri Lanka tour at the end of this month was interesting. Sanju Samson, who scored a century in his last ODI, has not been selected, while Abhishek Sharma, who scored a T20I century in the #INDvZIM series, has not been selected.
