Justice clock installed in Supreme Court, steps taken to create awareness among the public

New Delhi. Justice Clock has been installed in the Supreme Court on Tuesday 15 October. This Justice Clock is a step taken to create awareness among the public. The purpose of this Justice Clock is to provide information to the public about the judicial field. To advertise different schemes of Judiciary. Besides, the public has to be informed about the status of areas related to the judicial sector.

Information about the top district courts is given on this Justice Clock. This clock provides information that maximum cases older than 2, 2-5 and 10 years have been disposed of in the district courts. Also, information on how citizens can avail schemes like legal aid programs and access to justice will also be displayed in this clock.

What is Justice Clock?

Justice Clock is not a clock to tell time. Rather, it is a display that provides information about the court. This Justice Clock installed outside the Supreme Court will give information about how many cases are pending in the Supreme Court? How many days, months and years old cases are pending? When and how many cases have been filed in the court. Also, with the help of this clock, the public will easily get information about how many cases the court has disposed of.

A total of 39 Justice Clocks are installed in the entire 25 High Courts. The E-Committee has approved an amount of Rs 13 lakh for each cloak. National Judicial Data Grid (NJDG) has designed it. LED display message sign board system has been installed to provide information to the public from the database maintained with the help of National Judicial Data Grid. Which is approximately 10×7 feet. This display board shows how many cases the courts have disposed of. The court will give information about the facilities and services provided in the premises. It also gives the public the status of various areas and other information which will benefit the citizens.
