World Food Day is celebrated across the world every year on 16 October, highlighting global campaigns to eliminate hunger and provide nutritious food to every person. This year, 2024, the theme of World Food Day is “The Right to Food for a Better Life and a Better Future”. This theme emphasizes the fundamental human rights to accessible, nutritious, affordable and sustainable food to ensure the well-being and dignity of all. The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) launched this global program to begin the fight against hunger, raise awareness about healthy diets, and promote action against malnutrition and food security. World Food Day aims to eradicate hunger, ensure food security, boost agricultural productivity and support a sustainable food system.

Nutritious food will keep you from getting sick
Eating nutritious food prevents malnutrition and diseases like obesity, heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and stroke can be avoided. A balanced diet should include a variety of foods from all five food groups. To eat healthier, replace butter, lard, or ghee with low-fat oil or paste. When eating meat, choose low-fat foods and remove visible fat.
