Such fielding even in 42 years… took a surprising catch in the final, caught 4 batsmen – Video – Read

Even after retiring from international cricket, many cricketers are showing their talent on the field these days. These players playing in different T20 leagues always show something amazing, no matter what their age is. Many such brilliant performances have also been seen in the Legends League cricket being played in India these days. Now in the final, a 42 year old player did something similar, which brought many successes to the team. This player is former Australian cricketer Ben Laughlin, who showed very efficient fielding in the final and took 4 catches. One of these catches was such that it is difficult to believe that he is 42 years old and plays cricket only occasionally.

Laughlin’s excellent fielding

The final match of this tournament was played on Wednesday night of 16 October at Bakshi Stadium, Srinagar. In this match, there was a clash between Southern Superstars and Konark Surya Odisha. Southern Super Stars came to bat first. Which scored 164 runs after losing 6 wickets in 20 overs. This score of Southern Super Stars could have been even bigger if Ben Laughlin had not shown his amazing fielding. Laughlin took catches of 4 Southern batsmen in this innings and all these catches were very high and very close to the boundary but Ben did not make any mistake.

One of the catches came from former New Zealand opener Martin Guptill. Guptill, who was busy in achieving quick boundaries, was making this effort. He wrapped the ball of Konark captain Irfan Pathan in the same style. The ball seemed to be going straight outside the deep midwicket boundary but Laughlin, stationed there, ran and dived to his left, raised his hands in the air and caught the fast-moving ball. In this attempt, he fell near the boundary but did not let the ball fall. This gave Konark its second success and ended a great partnership.

Munaweera’s amazing bowling

Apart from this, Laughlin also caught Southern’s highest run-scorer, former Zimbabwean batsman Hamilton Masakadza, who scored 83 runs in 58 balls. Even Pawan Negi, the second highest run scorer for the team, was caught by the same player. As far as bowling is concerned, for Konark, former Sri Lankan off-spinner Dilshan Munaweera took 4 wickets for just 9 runs in 3 overs.
