There is growing dissatisfaction towards the outgoing BJP candidate Bhimrao Dhondiba Tapkir, who has represented the constituency for three consecutive terms. Some in the party believe it is time for a new face instead of giving Tapkir a fourth chance. Tapkir himself has acknowledged this sentiment and said he will abide by the party's decision – even if it means re-election. Whether to contest elections or step aside.
